Abatement:
In general, a decrease in the amount of taxation faced by an individual or
company. Examples of an abatement include a tax decrease, a reduction in

Automated Collection System (ACS):
ACS contacts taxpayers via telephone regarding delinquent tax balances and tax
returns. Their enforced collection authority is limited to levying bank
accounts, wages and accounts receivable. Cases which could not be resolved by
ACS are sent to Revenue Officers.
Board of Directors:
Also called board of trustees, board of governors, board of
managers, or board of curators, is a group of people who oversee the
affairs of a corporation. One member of the group may be designated or elected
to serve as chairperson and is referred to as the chairman of the board.
